The Photographic Chronicles – Week 24

Although Week 24 of the year normally covers the period from June 9 to June 15, I'm writing these lines more than a month late, as we're already well into July. All due to an especially busy schedule.

Flash-back

To put the week into context, it was marked by the first thunderstorms of the year. So I took the opportunity to try capturing a few lightning bolts, which, by the way, remains one of the most unpredictable areas of photography I’ve encountered, even when you know the technique!

You frame to the right, the lightning strikes on the left. You aim left, it flashes above the clouds. You lower the camera, three bolts streak across the sky... In short, I’m no storm chaser. So I went back to familiar ground: the street and the trees.
