Bikes and channels

Between two mentorship sessions, I took my cameras and headed to the Netherlands, with Amsterdam as my first stop. I had visited the city as a child, but never through the eyes of an adult.

I stayed only a few days, but I really enjoyed the city’s atmosphere. Outside the hyper-touristy center, it was extremely pleasant to get lost in quieter neighborhoods, where the pace and the people felt much more human.

Just three and a half hours by train, I will definitely return very soon, as I was frustrated not to have spent enough time there given the city’s photographic potential.

The highly renowned RijkAkademie offers artists the chance to spend six months in residence at its premises. Unfortunately, the call for applications had already closed before I realized it. Perhaps next year!

By the way, do you know other artistic residencies opportunities in the Netherlands ?
