36th week of the Photo Chronicles and the final part of my stay in Great Britain.
Cardiff
After exploring the coast near Cardiff, I decided to spend more time in the city’s outskirts. As someone who loves cemeteries, I had been struck throughout my stay by the constant presence of graves surrounding churches even right in the city center.
I remember that during a walk through a wooded park, I unexpectedly came across a small cathedral, with old tombstones scattered at its feet. I’m more used to cemeteries being walled off, set apart from everyday life, so this felt unusual...
I also took the time to wander through residential neighborhoods. Alongside the endless rows of terraced houses, some more affluent than others, I discovered their equivalent of our housing estates. They radiate the same bleakness we know back home, yet they remain compelling subjects for photography.
